HVAC upgrade completes renovation

I wasn’t so sure that work on this house would ever end.

But going into this project, I knew there was going to be a lot of work.

My wife and I have tackled other home renovations in other houses. Yet, we had never taken on a project of this scale and scope. We bought a home that was designed and built prior to even residential HVAC. That’s how old this house is. However, it’s also one of a kind and the passion project of a famous architect. Our home was once the winter residence of that renowned designer. Of course, this region is suited to wonderful winters with very little demand for heating. Still, our home came with 3 gorgeous fireplaces for heating if needed back then. But of course, the real concern for us when it came to HVAC was the cooling. While that man had the good fortune to go elsewhere in the summer, we don’t. So figuring out just what sort of HVAC equipment we wanted was a big part of the deal. There was a hodge podge of window air conditioning units that we lived with for the past two summers while all the other work was going on. But this summer, we are eager to enjoy the ductless multi split heating and cooling system that completed renovations. Essentially, we have five ductless heat pumps strategically placed by our genius HVAC contractor around the house. The ductless heat pumps blend in perfectly to the design of the house. Yet, we are really looking forward to having quality heating and air in our home for the first time.
