My parents were born and raised way down South, and that is all that they ever knew. My dad refused to transport up North when he had the chance about twenty years ago. I was just a little girl at the time, so I did not understand why my dad did not want to move. All I knew was that there was snow up North where my friend and I could have moved, and I had never actually seen snow in person before. I wanted to transport up North so badly. Well, I ended up going to school and meeting the person of my dreams who just so happened to be a northerner. When my friend and I finished our degrees, my friend and I got married and moved up north. He already had a task secured in the village that he grew up in, so it was obvious that my friend and I had to live up North and not down South with my family. I do miss my family, however I very care about residing up North. I care about the cool weather. My hubby and I have never used an a/c in our house. It is just not moderate enough to need an a/c even in the middle of the summer. I just put a couple of fans in the windows downstairs, and it keeps the house at a comfortable temperature. We do have to use the heater about three-fourths of the year though because it gets quite frigid here, however I care about it, and I care about the snow just as I thought that I would as a little girl.
