The right timeframe for replacing your heating system

My mom always calls me for things.

This is mainly because she does not have a computer at her house or a smartphone.

She wants me to look up things for her that she doesn’t know how to do. She called me the other day to ask me about her HVAC system. I’m not a very handy person but I know how to go online and find out information on heating and cooling. My mother is unsure when she should be replacing her heating and cooling equipment. Her house is about 30 years old and her and my dad have not changed the HVAC system since then. I found a lot of information online and I found out that, it a homeowners heat pump is more than 10 years old they should consider replacing it. If it is replaced than the homeowner can save up 20% in energy costs. I also found out that, if a furnace or boiler is more than 15 years old than it should be replaced too. My mother agreed with the information that I found and said that her heating and cooling system is well overdue. Plus the older the system is the more energy and money a homeowner could be losing since they are not getting the most optimum efficiency out of the system. I told my mom this and she immediately called an HVAC company to come take a look at her HVAC system. No one wants to lose energy or money due to an HVAC system.
